Mr. Steven Ray is so excited to be the new principal at Oak Grove High School. He joined the Oak Grove family in 2016 as an assistant principal. Prior to becoming an administrator, he taught middle school social studies for 16 years, with stops in Oxford, Trussville, and Irondale. Mr. Ray received his bachelor of science degree in secondary education from Jacksonville State University in 2001 and his master’s degree in educational administration from JSU in 2004.

Mr. Ray is married to Dr. Calah Ray, an optometrist in Vestavia. They have been married for 15 years and have two amazing sons, Carter and Colton. In addition to his professional and family responsibilities, Mr. Ray is an active member of The Church at Liberty Park, where he serves as a deacon and a leader in the worship ministry.
