Greetings Pinson Families,

I hope that you are enjoying the last few days of summer!  I know it feels too early to think about returning to school, but I wanted to introduce myself and give you some Pinson information before we start the school year.

My name is Nino Mason, and I am honored and humbled to serve as the new principal at Pinson Elementary.  This is my 27th year in education.  For the past 20 years, I have served as an elementary principal in Opelika City Schools System.  Prior to that, I was an assistant principal for 3 years in Auburn City Schools System, and 4 years as a classroom teacher in Macon County.  I cannot tell you how excited I am to work alongside the faculty and staff, parents, students and the community this upcoming year.  I know we will do great things together as a Pinson family.

Our theme for the 2024-2025 school year is, "Unleash the Superhero in You!" This will be a SUPER year as we teach every student to achieve GREATNESS in all academic areas.  We strive to ensure the curriculum is being taught to fidelity and that our students are challenged to reach their highest potential.  As a faculty and staff, it is our mission to provide a caring and safe environment while focusing on best practices that will ensure the learning of all students.

Also, we have an open-door policy with parents, and we encourage you to become involved in the many activities sponsored by our teachers and PTA.  Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

We will be here to support you and your child with Pinson Pride!  It will be an AWESOME school year.
